Technology in Learning

Roxburgh College believes that the integration of digital technology and tools can enhance student learning and development throughout their education. We believe that digital tools, such as laptops and tablets, can help students develop essential knowledge and skills that will assist them throughout their life as 21st century citizens.

The College has a proactive IT team that is available to support students with any device needs, including accessing the school network, downloading relevant programs and technological issues.

Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Program

In line with this view, students are expected to bring a device to every single class. Students and families are able to choose the device that is best suited for them but they must be able to connect to the network and support relevant programs for learning. Most laptops and tablets should be appropriate.

If you are unsure if a specific device is suitable, please contact the IT department during school hours.

Laptop Loan Program

If there are any financial insecurities or concerns, the College has a limited number of devices available for students to loan throughout their education. To participate in this program, students must collect the form from the Library and pay a deposit of $50. The deposit will be refunded as long as the laptop is returned in the same condition it was borrowed out in.
